Convicts of South Arm: A Walk Through Time

South Arm Community Centre

11am - 1pm, 13 September 2020

Portrait of a convict by Peter Gordon Fraser. Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office.

South Arm has a history which may surprise you…

Behind the beach shacks and million dollar views, the ghosts of another South Arm linger, from a time when the Peninsula provided opportunities for ex-convicts to re-establish themselves as respectable farming folk (or at least try to). Come hear these stories with renowned story teller James Parker as we stroll the South Arm Convict Trail.

Start point to be confirmed (potentially South Arm Community Centre)

Walking difficulty: Easy

Shoes: Please wear sturdy walking shoes and wear appropriate outdoor, cold weather attire.

Social Distancing restrictions will apply with limited ticket numbers for the event. Participants are advised to keep 1.5m apart during the walk.
