    Located in the beautiful and historic village of Richmond in Tasmania, just 25 minutes’ drive from Hobart.

    Visit our village and enjoy local history, view historic buildings, eat or buy delicious foods and see amazing local craft, created by talented Tasmanians. The market is held every Saturday 9am – 3pm in the village Town Hall and surrounding areas. Hold a stall yourself, or come and see what we have to offer. The Market has been developed to give local producers in the Coal River Valley and surrounding areas a place to sell their produce and artisan items. It is also intended to provide a source of fresh foods and other items to locals and tourists, thus promoting our region and encouraging people to visit the Richmond and Coal River Valley region.

    All profits from the market will be 100% re-invested into the community and promoting our region.

    The market is managed by volunteers of the Richmond and Coal River Valley Promotions Group.

    The South Arm Community Market is the friendliest little market in Tasmania. It is held on the first Sunday morning of every month at the South Arm Community Centre in Southern Tasmania.

    “ The City of Clarence Eisteddfod takes place annually for the purposes of encouraging participation in the performing arts. Students perform in a friendly atmosphere before an expert in their field who provides them with a written critique.”

    Solo and small group classes will be held at the Clarence Uniting Church.
    Choral, Verse Speaking, Bands and most instrumental sections will be and at Citywide.

  • Live Well In Clarence

    The event focuses on the many ways we can live well, including physical and mental health, food and nutrition, exercise, relaxation and the resources and services available for these in our community.

    More than 40 groups and service providers will be at the event providing plenty of information including Lifeline, Youth Beat, Speak Up and Stay ChatTY, Men’s Shed, Knitters and Chatters, to name a few.

    There will also be health checks, a chill out zone, games, reflexology, activities, informative talks, music, entertainment as well as giveaways, yummy treats and a free barbecue. The event will be hosted by local actor and radio presenter, Jane Longhurst.

  • The Cottage School Annual Fair

    A popular event on the community calendar, The Cottage School Fair is best described as a cross between a Farmer’s Market and a Craft & Design Market.

    The whole school community, including members of extended families; past school families; friends; and even community members, unconnected to the  School, bring the best of home-grown, homemade and handmade together to create the thousands of items for sale on the day.

    This teamwork, one of inclusion; community spirit and the focus on home-made, rather than mass-produced, are part of The Cottage School ethos. The same ethos that underpins our curriculum and code of ethics influences many of our choices and standards at Fair.

    If you are already a devotee of The Cottage School Fair, you’ll know our biggest & most popular stalls are: Gourmet Foods; Cakes and Bakery; Craft and Plants. Here you’ll find many of the favourite items from past years, as well as some new additions.

    Other regular stalls include:

    • Market Garden (Fruit & Veg and bunches of cut-flowers)
    • Face Painting and Children’s Activity Area
    • Second-hand Stalls (Clothing; Toys; Games; Books etc)

  • One Walk: Junvenile Diabetes Reserach Foundation

    The world’s biggest type 1 diabetes (T1D) fundraising event.

    Each year, JDRF One Walks around the globe bring together around a million people to raise over $85 million for life-changing T1D research. This success is only possible because of the support, commitment and strength of our community.
