Aoi Kusudo Artist Talk

Schoolhouse Gallery

6pm, 15 August 2018

Tickets BOOKED OUT

A presentation by Aoi Kusudo, a visiting artist from Kyoto, Japan. Aoi specialises in the traditional Japanese technique of Tarashikomi (meaning “dripping in”). Tarashikomi is a painting technique, in which a second layer of paint is applied before the first layer is dry. This effect creates a dripping form for fine details such as ripples in water or flower petals on a tree.

Aoi produces beautiful and whimsical illustrations using this ancient technique in a contemporary way. Aoi will present images, samples and an insight into her practice.
