Public Art Opportunity

Through its Developer Contribution Scheme for public art Clarence City Council wishes to commission a contemporary public artwork by a Tasmanian artist to be located adjacent to the state of the art dental surgery recently constructed at 26 Bayfield St, Rosny Park.

The commission is open in theme but artists may choose to consider the history of the area and its current use as a retail precinct.  Audience for the work will be the general public, particularly those visiting 26 Bayfield St.

Clarence City Council would like the commissioned artwork to:

  • Represent excellence in contemporary arts practice;
  • increase the understanding and enjoyment of contemporary public art by the community; and
  • be a site specific artwork which explores contemporary themes.

Commission value is $30,000

Expressions of interest close on 2 March 2018
